2017 HONDA CRF450cc Test

I am excited to share with you the test of the brand new Honda CRF450cc 2017! I have been going to Sardinia on the track of Baccalamanza for the Honda International Press Launch and got the chance to play all day with this amazing new bike.

2016 DUCATI HYPERMOTARD 939 SP

My experience on riding motorbikes inside tarmac circuits is surely limited but i must say that testing the new Ducati Hypermotard 939 SP in Spain on the circuit of Igualada was somewhat extraordinary.

Without speaking about the technical data, because you can find it on practically millions of website, i’ll quickly share with you which were my riding sensations. This bike could be considered almost a dual sport for asphalt lovers, the different ways in which you can handle the bike makes it also perfect for people like me that have an offroad background since you are able to ride it using both motogp technique leaning your body and knee down on the ground or offroad technique, leg out and bike leaned to the floor. Personally i felt like i was almost riding an offroad bike glued to the ground.

Initially i was worried about the speed, this beast can quickly get you to 250km/h which is significantly faster than what offroad bikes reach, but the strange thing was it felt easier to go 250km/h on the circuit’s straights rather than going 150km/h on a gravel road with an offroad bike. The Ducati has simply an impressive stability, this favors going full throttle and feeling safe. Generally i would consider this the perfect transition bike for those riders that have only offroad experience and want to begin to ride road bikes because the transition is surely softer than hopping directly on a sports bike.

EICMA 2016

Since i was a kid EICMA (the biggest international motorbike trade show in Europe) was an event i looked forward to and always admired seeing all the professional rider’s bikes exposed. Nowadays to be there almost every year with my race bikes displayed in companies booth makes me really happy and adds magic to this awesome event. This year one of my bikes was at the Spark Exhausts booth, this italian company is my supplier of race exhaust both for my enduro and Dakar rally bikes. Here are some photos from this year and if you have never been to EICMA consider coming next year and believe me you will thank me for the advice čśŤ

GROTTENDURO 2016

It’s been 7 years since the first Grottenduro event, this offroad “party” takes place always in October on the hills of Sarego near Vicenza. The event was born in order to remember one of us, a guy called Tonino Maestrello who unfortunately is no longer with us. Tonino’s┬ápassion for enduro was really big and being a person loved by everyone living in this area, these hills are used for one entire weekend a year to trace a 5 minute enduro track where anyone can participate, have fun and eat good food.

Another important and awesome thing is that all the money from the entry fees are then given to charity.

I must say that thanks to the heavy rain of the past days combined with the sun and good weather of today (Saturday 22 october) the terrain was absolutely amazing. You probably know the feeling of excitement while riding on dirt that has the same consistency of play-doh and your wheels stick so much to the ground that you are able tu do turns with your handlebar almost touching the ground.

The loop was partly made like your typical enduro cross test whereas another section was traced in the forest on rocky single trails, last but not least you could choose some parts if to do the hard version that had a couple of extremely slippery and steep up and downhills or the easier one that was obviously easy. Like every year loads of people attended the event and tomorrow (Sunday) we will replicate the fun hoping on another sunny day.

Episode 3: THE CORRECT MINDSET

Which is the real key to succeed at Dakar? Meaning how can we get all the way to the start line and eventually to the finish line? This sport event is nothing similar to other sport events, Dakar is a real mental game where psychology and attitude are what will make you succeed or fail.
